Hello! In case you were wondering I am not the one in tears
like you might assume. but I will get to that later. Life in the MTC is
intense. It is awesome, I just get to work hard and grow. There honestly is not
much better than that. The best way for me to describe the MTC would be a
roller coaster. There are extreme highs and lows and turns that come out of nowhere.
You want it to be over but at the same time you are having a great time.
Funny: Emotions are very high at the MTC. More so than I
expected. At lunch, the there was a girl that was sitting at the table across
from me and she just started to cry, within a minute her companion was crying
for no obvious reason. within 10 minutes half of the people at the table were
in tears. when we asked what was wrong no one could tell us. Not even the girl
that started to cry.
Where I am at: My companion is named Elder Sanders and he is
a hard-working city boy from Ohio. I have learned a lot about myself through
him. We also got made zone leaders on the second day of the MTC experience so
that is keeping us on our toes. The food is amazing as long as you eat it in
moderation. I made the mistake of eating 8 doughnuts on my third day and I am
still feeling the effects.
Spiritual: I have had so many great spiritual experiences
but the most impactful to me right now actually comes from one of my room mates.
His name is Elder Greenhailgh (Green ouch). He has mild autism and has had so
many family trials that i can't even imagine. But he has the strongest
testimony i have ever heard. He has a voice that is just naturally quiet but
when he speaks he speaks with power and a knowledge that surpasses
understanding. It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from God loves
you and he cares about you.
I am excited for the challenges of week number two and look
forward to the growth
